Every letter used! π
Theme: good vibes. Drag across touching letters to make a word.
π How to play Word Swirl
The board is full of letters. Every single letter belongs to exactly one hidden word, and the words wind around the board like a snake: each next letter touches the one before it, sideways, up, down or diagonally (diagonals can be switched off in Settings). A word never uses the same square twice.
Playing
- All the hidden words are good-vibes words: happy, kind or pleasant things (love, calm, sunny, upbeat, jovial, serene ...). Some are short (3 or 4 letters), some are long.
- Under the board you see one slot for each hidden word, showing only how many letters it has. A found word fills its slot.
- Drag from the first letter through touching letters and let go to check the word. Or tap the letters one at a time and tap the last letter again to check it. Drag back over the previous letter to undo one letter.
- A correct word lights up in its own colour and stays. A word that is not one of the hidden ones is simply cleared, with a little shake.
- You win when every letter is used. A hint shows the winding outline of one unfound word for a few seconds (the letters stay your job). The hints used are counted but do not stop you winning.
Tips
- Look for long words first, they are the easiest to spot. Then the leftover letters are often short words.
- Corners and edges are great places to start: a letter in a corner has few neighbours.
- Because every letter is used, if a group of leftover squares has 3 letters, it is a 3-letter word.
- Each hidden word can be traced in only one place on the board, so if you can trace a word in two ways, it is not one of the hidden ones.
Settings
- Board size from 5Γ5 to 7Γ9, word sizes (short, mixed or long words), and 8 or 4 directions (4 means no diagonals).
- Daily gives everyone the same puzzle today. Random makes a new one each time.
- Not included: a dictionary check for other words you might find (only the hidden words count), and a hint meter that rewards extra words.
